Newlyweds and new doctors, Brittany & Nick, have accomplished a lot over the years with some of the most exciting just recently! Just a few weeks before their nuptials, they both graduated medical school, bought a new house, new car and finally after dating for several years, were ready to tie the knot. Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events helped the couple plan there wedding with the ceremony taking place at the beautiful Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown, followed by a fun and lively reception at the Fairmont. The bride’s colors of apple green and purple looked amazing in the ballroom. Thanks to Greg Gibson for the great photos! Congratulations Brittany & Nick!

After looking for a reception venue for several month, Kate and Matt fell in love with the Decatur House in Washington DC. They decided it would be a fabulous venue with being so close to the White House for their out of town guests. Dinner was in the tented courtyard and dancing was back inside the carriage house. The purple, green and cream color scheme gave a natural yet modern look to the historic venue.
Congratulations Matt & Kate!

Elizabeth from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events worked with this fabulous couple on their October 3 wedding. The ceremony took place at St Peter’s Church on Capitol Hill with the reception hosted at Washington Gold & Country Club which is an elegant venue. The couple danced their first dance as husband and wife as a good friend sang Midnight Train to Georgia. This couple’s style was a mix of modern elegance and old school glamour.
Check out all the details!

Don’t be fooled by google. Most people think that all of the answers to every wedding wish is in google or somewhere on the internet. You really will have to take your time and find the right wedding planner in person. No amount of searching on the internet and flipping through magazines will take away from simply meeting with a wedding planner.
1st - You will need to ask your friends who have recently gotten engaged. You will be surprised about the amount of information that other brides have!
2nd- Ask the venue where you are getting married who they recommend. They obviously have worked with wedding planners before and will recommend those they trust to take care of their facility.
3rd - Start to think about what you really want help with. Some people don’t need a full planning package and like the planning process and want someone to wrap up the details for them. Some brides simply just don’t have the time to plan their wedding and really need the expertise!
Take the time and make an appointment, sooner rather than later. Taking the time to find the right wedding planner for your special day can really make the difference between smooth sailing and natural disaster!
Congratulations on your engagement!
