Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings had a fun time helping Carolina and James plan their special day at the Newseum. Luck was on the couple’s side as the gray skies opened up and the heat wave subsided for this stunning occasion. They could not have chosen a more perfect backdrop for the ceremony. The couple was declared ‘husband and wife’ on the balcony of the Newseum with the historic Capitol Building behind them. Following the ceremony, guests headed downstairs for some cocktails where they picked up their escort cards surrounding an ice sculpture of the Capitol Building! As guests entered the reception, they were able to grab some sweets from the all night night candy bar complete with a 5 foot replica of the Washington monument! After a delicious buffet dinner, guests packed the dance floor and danced the night away to the sounds of Raggs and the All Stars. Thank you to Freed Photography for the photos.

Elizabeth from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had a wonderful time helping plan Sofia and Afzalul’s traditional Hindu wedding in which every detail was colorful and joyous! The wedding began with the baraat, in which Afzalul’s family escorted him to the ceremony at the Westin Grand Hotel through the streets of DC. Once the groom arrived, a sitar and tabla played in the background as Sofia was escorted down the aisle by her parents. After the ceremony, the couple changed into their reception attire and headed to the ballroom, where amber lights shone and tons of red orchids sweetly scented the room. After a delicious buffet from Rangoli Restaurant and a gorgeous cake designed by Fancy Cakes by Leslie, the party got started! The guests packed the dance floor and the party lasted until the very end. Congratulations to a very sweet and happy couple, Sofia and Afzalul! Thanks to Eli from Freed Photography who was kind enough to share the beautiful images.

The bride was beaming and the groom was overwhelmed with joy as they said their “I Do’s” and then headed over to the country club for some tasty food, amazing views of the city and a packed dance floor. The groom’s idea of tall cherry blossom branches added to the decor nicely and the color coordinated candy bar was another big hit! Alex Pare from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had the pleasure of working with Erica and Chris on their beautiful evening wedding at Oxon Hill Manor. It was a bit chilly but the bride and groom exchanged vows in the garden with the sun setting over the Potomac. The bride looked nothing less than stunning in her Romona Keveza gown and cathedral length veil. Guests ate a delicious meal from Design Cuisine and the bride and groom chose to serve individual cakes with a choice of toppings to each guest instead of slicing a cake. The guests danced the night away with the band and stopped for a quick break to enjoy a Chicago Style hot dog! Thanks to Rodney Bailey for the amazing images!

Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events had the pleasure of working with Jessica and Andrew on their wedding. Jessica and Andrew were married last year at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in DC with the reception following at the beautiful Hotel Monaco. The bride wanted an elegant, fresh look and they created that by keeping things simple, yet beautiful with lots of orchids. To glamour things up a bit, the bride accompanied her dress with a fur shawl. The guests got their “dance on” all night to Fancy Pants and the groom shocked everyone when he showcased some splits on the dance floor! Thanks so much to Chris Balthazar for the amazing photos!
