Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had the joy of helping Matt & Sara make their special day a huge success. The couple was declared husband and wife on May 15, 2010 in one of the most pristine places in Washington, DC. And although the National Cathedral was open to the public, the ceremony was packed with 160 guests making it feel quite intimate. The guests continued on to the National Museum of Women in the Arts for the reception while the bridal party took advantage of the gorgeous weather and went to the Lincoln Monument for some photos. After a delicious dinner catered by Ridgewells, the guests danced the night away to Retrospect. At the evenings end, the bride and groom left in a classic Rolls Royce. Thanks to Amy Deputy for these great photos and congratulations to Sara and Matt!

Elizabeth from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had a wonderful time helping plan Sofia and Afzalul’s traditional Hindu wedding in which every detail was colorful and joyous! The wedding began with the baraat, in which Afzalul’s family escorted him to the ceremony at the Westin Grand Hotel through the streets of DC. Once the groom arrived, a sitar and tabla played in the background as Sofia was escorted down the aisle by her parents. After the ceremony, the couple changed into their reception attire and headed to the ballroom, where amber lights shone and tons of red orchids sweetly scented the room. After a delicious buffet from Rangoli Restaurant and a gorgeous cake designed by Fancy Cakes by Leslie, the party got started! The guests packed the dance floor and the party lasted until the very end. Congratulations to a very sweet and happy couple, Sofia and Afzalul! Thanks to Eli from Freed Photography who was kind enough to share the beautiful images.

Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events is so thankful that the weather held out for the beautiful Memorial Day wedding of Sarah and David at the National Cathedral. The light shown through the gorgeous stained glass windows as the beautiful bride and handsome groom exchanged vows in the Great Choir in the heart of the cathedral in front of 120 of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony, the couple went to the bishop’s garden at the Cathedral where they took some fun portrait shots. Atop the Hay Adams’ roof, guests enjoyed hors d’ourvres during the cocktail hour and took in one of the most amazing views of the city. After a delicious dinner in the ornate John Hay room, guests danced the night away to the amazing band Sound Nation. Thanks to Bryan Blanken from Freed Photography who did an amazing job with the photos and another congratulations to Sarah and David!

Amy and Rene’s love was witnessed by 45 of their closest friends and family as they celebrated in the intimate Nest at the historic Willard hotel. Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events was thrilled to be a part of their special day as they exchanged vows in front of their close friend (and great dancer) Evan before enjoying a delicious meal complete with German sauerbraten and spaetzel, a tribute to Rene’s German heritage. After dinner they danced and sometimes waltzed the night away. Greenworks did an amazing job with the flowers and a big thanks to Eli Turner from Freed Photography for these great shots!

Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events had the pleasure of working with Kristin and Brent on their April 17th wedding where cherry blossoms were featured across town at the Walker Chapel United Methodist Church and the Washington Golf Country Club. The bride was beaming and the groom was overwhelmed with joy as they said their “I Do’s” and then headed over to the country club for some tasty food, amazing views of the city and a packed dance floor. The groom’s idea of tall cherry blossom branches added to the decor nicely and the color coordinated candy bar was another big hit! Thanks to Maria Vicencio for the great photos and a big congratulations to Kristin and Brent!

Cherry blossoms were definitely in full bloom for Matt and Melissa’s April 17th wedding. From the beautiful centerpieces to the tasty 4 tier wedding cake, the blossoms highlighted the soft tones of the ballroom at Belmont Country Club lending to the elegant spring theme the bride hoped for. Earlier in the afternoon the couple was married at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Sterling. The wedding was a huge success with the help of Elizabeth Leibundguth from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events. A special thanks to jan michele photography for the beautiful photos! Congrats to Melissa and Matt!

Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events had the pleasure of working with Jessica and Andrew on their wedding. Jessica and Andrew were married last year at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in DC with the reception following at the beautiful Hotel Monaco. The bride wanted an elegant, fresh look and they created that by keeping things simple, yet beautiful with lots of orchids. To glamour things up a bit, the bride accompanied her dress with a fur shawl. The guests got their “dance on” all night to Fancy Pants and the groom shocked everyone when he showcased some splits on the dance floor! Thanks so much to Chris Balthazar for the amazing photos!
